waco city guide
sweat it out:
rush cycle
Rush cycle is one of the best workouts you can get in waco. the instructors are motivating and the environment is incredible!
train waco
Train Waco is a great place to get a sweat in. They have quality equipment with plenty of space to get your workout in. The vibe of the overall place makes you feel inspired and excited about your workout.
take a sip:
george’s
Grab a beer or a margarita and hang on the ‘Big ‘O Deck’ with some chicken fingers and you’re set. One of my favorite places to go hang after work in the summer or to watch a game.
freight
A great spot to hangout outside, play games and listen to live music. An awesome overall vibe to hangout or chill.
Get outside:
bsr cable park
Yes, this beach and these very real waves actually exist in Waco and it’s the greatest place ever. Come in the summer and you may get to watch some pretty incredible pro surfers while chillin in the sand or the water. There’s also a massive slide you just have to do…. at least once.
waco paddle company
Rent a Stand Up Paddle Board on the Brazos and either paddle down through part of Baylor’s campus or float around and hang out on the river! My recommendation is to wake up early and do a sunrise paddle, watching the sunrise from the river is pretty incredible.
take a bite:
Harvest on 25th
Harvest is an amazing farm to table restaurant. They have tons of vegan options and the food is so fresh. A great go to is the vegan breakfast tacos!
the mix
The mix is your favorite home cooked meal on steroids. Tasty, comfy, and a great place to snack and study.
Schmaltz’s
I’m gonna come in here with a major statement… Schmaltz’s has one of the best sandwiches I’ve ever had. Ever. Their homemade bread is pretty dang magical and all the toppings are always perfect. My go to was always the turkey sandwich (call me boring).
El ranchito
If you want some seriously incredible Mexican food while you’re in Waco please go to Ranchito. I have frequented this place for dinner an embarrassing amount of times and it’s definitely one of my favorite places in Waco.
pro tip:
Waco Farmer’s market
The Farmer’s Market on saturday mornings is a more sustainable and affordable way to shop for EVERYTHING!!
Clasé vintage
I have an EMBARRASSING amount of tees, hats, etc. etc. etc. from Clasé. The owner is incredible and doing some super cool things in Waco.
