kk’s Takeover

KK is the Co-Owner and CEO of Mamaka. It would be a pretty fun activity for us to try and sum up everything KK does in a day but we will leave that to her. Suffice to say she is the burning passion, and driving force behind this fun world called Mamaka we all get to share. In true KK style, the doors to our first Mamaka opened the day she was supposed to walk for graduation and the rest is history. We cant wait for you to get to know her more! Make sure you follow along on Instagram for her take over today, and check out her episode of Shark Bait below!

What KK Can’t Live Without

I got hooked on spin classes when I lived in Ft. Worth and it quickly became the thing I can do for myself to de-stress and reset each day. When I moved back to Fayetteville, I invested in the Soul Cycle bike and it’s without a doubt a lifesaver for me.

I don’t sit still well which makes it even more difficult to make myself step away from work. As silly as it sounds, having a low stress game to play on my switch gives me a much needed brain break while helping me feel like I’m still doing something. Stardew Valley and Animal Crossing are my all-time favorite games in case you were wondering.

Especially in the summer, I live in my Mamaka trucker hat. Most of the time in the summers, we are opening a store or working 24/7 in a store so wearing a hat while working is a necessity. PLUS when the last thing I have time for is to pay attention to my hair, I’m the only one who has to know.

My entire life is on my Mac. I take it everywhere I go from the stores, vacations, if I’m sitting passenger in the car, I always end up needing it wherever I am. Whether its quick access to our POS System, a file I have saved on my computer or a design I need to make quickly for social media, my computer is the only thing I trust to make sure I have everything I need to get to in a moments notice.

I used to absolutely despise iced lattes and only ever drank hot lattes no matter the temperature. I still can't drink a plain iced coffee but if I ever need an immediate good start to my day, I start with an iced latte. It feels like the ultimate treat for my day. The order: 16oz, iced, almond milk latte, with half the amount of sugar free vanilla.

My days get pretty stressful and chaotic so it becomes super easy to lose site of my ultimate purpose, hope and peace that I have in Christ. I start every day by reading my Bible so I have a clear direction to start my day and something to think back onto throughout the day. At night if I’m feeling overcome by anxiety, I open my Bible app and read a few verses to get my mind and heart in a better place.
